Introducing Our All-New Rehire Team

Bringing over 30 years of combined expertise, Peter O’Keefe, Tom Hugill-Horn and Chris Reeves will head-up a new team to support Cleveland’s rehire partners.

With growing demand from rehire partners and a clear opportunity to expand the hire division, Cleveland is excited to introduce a brand-new rehire team. The experienced trio will deliver a proactive, streamlined, and customer-focused service that aligns with Cleveland’s values and ambitious growth plans. In this Q&A, they share their backgrounds, motivations, and what rehire partners can truly expect going forward.

Welcome to the team! Would you like to run through your background in the industry?

Tom: Chris and I started in the portable storage solutions industry over a decade ago, back in 2014, as business administration apprentices. Our early roles involved data input, managing contracts, and handling service requests - all the behind-the-scenes essentials that gave us a good understanding of the business.

Chris: From there, I moved into a national accounts support team, while Tom took on a regional accounts role. We became customer-facing coordinators, managing key accounts and learning the importance of clear, consistent service. Over the years, we became a single point of contact for key clients.

Peter: I joined the industry in 2017, working in internal sales before becoming a team leader, focussing on business development and account management. In 2019, Chris and I were part of a ‘rehire team’ launch, and Tom joined us in 2021.

Chris: The rehire team was designed to provide a bespoke, one-stop service for rehire partners - covering everything from quoting and account management to servicing and repeat business. That experience gave us a strong foundation in what rehire customers really value, and we’re bringing that same focus and energy to Cleveland.

What will your roles at Cleveland involve?

Peter: We’ll be responsible for managing Cleveland’s major rehire partners and developing the hire side of the business. There’s huge potential in this area, and with our combined experience, we’re confident we can drive organic growth.

Tom: Strengthening relationships with our ‘hire’ customers is the top priority. Cleveland may not be the cheapest, but our partners are getting the highest quality units on the market, best-in-class servicing, and rapid response times. I can’t wait to get going.

Chris: It’s all about being proactive. Rehire partners need quick answers. Even in our first week, we’ve seen how easy it is to get instant support internally, whether it's solving a problem or answering a query. Fast communication is essential in this industry, and we’re ready to deliver.

Peter: At the end of the day, people buy from people. We’re focused on delivering exceptional service and building trust through knowledgeable, responsive support. The teams at Cleveland are well-versed in looking after their customers.

What brought you to Cleveland?

Peter: I’d been aware of Cleveland for a long time. The positive stories and customer feedback on LinkedIn really stood out. When I was offered the chance to join a business where everyone pulls in the same direction and genuinely cares about the customer, I jumped at it. Knowing some of the team and understanding the company’s vision made the decision easy.

Tom: The culture was a strong selling point for us. Cleveland seems to have a clear plan for its future. The company knows where it wants to be and how it’s going to get there. It’s extremely motivating.

Chris: We’d often see Cleveland’s social media updates - from container conversions to team achievements. It was clear this was a company that celebrates its people and progress, and we wanted to be a part of that.

What do you enjoy about working at Cleveland so far?

Peter: The vibe is so positive. There is a “can-do” attitude and for me it feels like I’m going back to my roots.

Chris: The welcome has been fantastic. Everything was ready for us to hit the ground running. During our first week, we were shown around the Middlesbrough depot and were genuinely impressed by the unit quality - what comes standard in the site accommodation range is exceptional.

Tom: Starting as a team made the transition seamless. We knew each other, trusted each other, and that gave us confidence. The systems and processes are quick and clear which minimises admin time, allowing us the capability to better communicate with our partners. With the support of our new colleagues, we’ve even managed to process orders in our first week.

What would you like to achieve here?

Peter: For me, I just want to be part of the success story of Cleveland. The company has great plans for growth, and we’re well placed to support that journey.

Chris: Absolutely, we built a rehire team very successfully once before and we can definitely do it again at Cleveland.

Tom: I’d like us to keep us operating as a tight-knit team. The more in sync we are, the faster we can respond. We all bring something different to the table.

Peter: Honestly, I wouldn’t be as confident without having Tom and Chris alongside me, they have brilliant product knowledge and technical expertise.

Tom: And Peter’s a charmer on the phone!

What would you like to say to your rehire partners?

Chris: We’ve got a clear line of communication and we’re ready to help with any request. Most of the Cleveland team is under one roof or easily accessible, which means faster answers and minimal wait times.
We can also offer a higher quality of site accommodation units than others on the market and a wider variety of stores, including COSHH, and other specialised units.

Tom: We’re here to provide a consistent service - no hassle, no waffle. Cleveland has the newest accommodation and widest range of containers in its hire fleet, with specialist solutions for every project. 

Peter: We can deliver. On units and service, we can deliver.

As Cleveland continues to strengthen its national presence, the new rehire team is set to play a key role in driving growth, building lasting relationships, and enhancing the customer experience. With a shared history of success, and a strong team dynamic, Peter, Tom, and Chris are ready to hit the ground running.
